Rollercoasters, Visions, and Young’ns

What would the world look like if God chise to change it through a teens?

This thought came tom me as I was listening to one of ray Vanderlaans Shephelah podcasts...

Matthew 17:24 says:

The Temple Tax

24After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, (Who arrived?) the collectors of the two-drachma tax (This was a temple tax that all men 20 years old and older had to pay the sum of one – two days wages) came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax[2] ?" 25"Yes, he does," he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. "What do you think, Simon?" he asked. "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes--from their own sons or from others?" 26"From others," Peter answered. 27"Then the sons are exempt," Jesus said to him. "But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours." Who’s tax did he pay for? Jesus and Peter.

Where there not 10 other disciples? Why did he not pay for them?

Matthew 10
42And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, (Who does this say is the disciple here? No in the original Greek this is how it reads: And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple,) I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward."

Why does Jesus call his disciples little kids? Because they were! That’s what it means they were little kids! They were teenagers!

Just because he wanted to show they had small faith or to make them humble.

NO!

If you give a cup of cold water my to one of these teenagers (who IS my DISCIPLE!

That’s unbelievable!

God chose a bunch of teens and children to save the world!

The disciples were not a bunch of guys that you've seen in some of these Jesus movies. Toting their staffs and talking like they knew King James English like the back of their hands! They were juts a bunch of teens! The world was changed because of them!

God chose a bunch of common rag tag teens to change to world! A bunch of jewsish teens who were rabbi school dropouts!

God continues to do that today!

He’s been doing that through teens that have decided to put their gifts talents and passions to work for Him!

I know there are times that you sit in your little edge of the world, church, youth group and you feel like nobody listens to teens and you really feel insignificant.

You’re not!

Their is a grassroots movement happening and all we are asking you to do… All God is asking you to do is use the gifts He gave you Now!

Don’t wait till your 30!

I’m sick and tired of the world and at times the church telling you that your JUST TEENS!

You’re more than that.

So.. you got a story? How's God been using your gifts, talents and passions to change the world? I'd love to hear from you!
